What a day. Had a couple of people asking about my work,no sales but interest.You may have noticed my blog has been upgraded.Thanks so much for Onepixel, The help given is so much appreciated. Got a new avatar too,just have to figure out where yo go and load it. Spent some time in the virtual lab for Newbies,very useful info. I think iam getting my name out there now I need sales. Really need paypal still waiting on checks, not good I think it makes me lookbad, I really hope they don't think bad of me because of the post office. There Orders are packed and ready to ship.I am starting to feel like my laptop is part of me,lol always using it. Well I guess you have to make the first little steps to get going. My shop front is looking better too. Just posted the corner puppies in my unlisted photos,bad pic,but Will work on that. need a camera with macro to get better pics. Back to it .

I made a new name inside of a sign, feedback was helpful and good. Put it on flickr and fb fan page, lets see if anyone orders. Wish i could get to the rest of my tools so I could make more. Little by little I will get there. The music player has a playlist, but I cannot get it off autoplay,lol. I really need boxes that fit names, probably going to cut one to fit. Still waiting on checks, paypal is really needed. When we can will sign up for paypal. Back to making samples, maybe numbers. Just have to keep trying.

I guess u can see the little ninja in the middle of the page. Thats what I get for plaing with layouts, but live and learn. I do have a music player with a playlist, just need to find out if I can pick and choose songs or are they random. E-mail from wholesaler think I will turn it down , what they want takes to much time to create mass amounts, not worth it if you can not keep up. Still having problems finding boxes that fit names I make, might have to make my own box, No sales but a lot of promoting, hope it works. Sold my truck to pay the rent, it did not run right anyway. What a day, have not been on the net. Made some things I used to make and loaded them on my sites, not etsy yet,lol. If some one asks then I will post it. Made a FB fan page, that took a while,not so easy. So I have a Blog, Flickr, Facebook and twitter accounts, all free. Starting to link them together.Third sale in process, wish I had paypal. Went into esty chat and made a room, lets follow blogs,up to 30. 967 on twitter and none on FB. Guess next move is to make a chatroom lets be fans on FB,lol. I feel good now, 3 sales and 1 feedback so far. Its slow starting, but its starting. I know I can do this. Had another person ask me to be a whole saler. Lot to learn, policies and stuff to cover yourself. Been looking for new patterns of letters I think bigger ones would work. Well back to my creations for now,soon as they are done I can post them. Keep on trying.

No more sales today, but thats ok I learned to put an etsy mini on my blog. Cool widget. Hope it brings in more people - ppl .lol.This takes the whole day working,not just here and there. made another day

What a day, replaced the fuel pump in the truck and the battery died. Up to 115 people who hearted my shop, 945 followers on twitter and 27 on my blog. Went to a chat room in etsy title follow my blog, went from 9 to 27 followers in minutes. Tring out free banners from sellers on etsy. Should be interesting to see how they turn out. Make my sites look better for free. Getting more people interested in my wood work,yeah. If I can get enough followers maybe we can swap links. Promote promote promote all the time. Still waiting on first check so I can send out orders.Then I get feedback which should increase sales. I think my banner is here, so I am going to check it out and see if I can load it. Keep your hopes up.

Hello, Last 2 days have been real bad. No sales,Truck broke down,we are broke,bills are past due,have not finished moving, but I am still trying to make it work. If I can pull this off and get back on our feet I think I will write a book,lol. Moving and the holdup on mail is killing us. Two checks on the way and do not know when they will get here. Have to get sales and feedback to get more orders. I have four orders ready to go and wait. Then have to get checks cashed and bank overdrawn, not good. Sorry this ones depressing, but thats life and you just keep trying other people already have it worse. Pray and hope, till next time.

Good morning. Hope I can fTalk to you later.inish without grtting disconnected. Added new post to etsy. Going to make 3 sets of random corner animals to see how long it will take to finish. Getting info to start dealing with wholesaler, how long to fill order when placed, my cost and what to charge them. That would be price to make plus 50%. Do not make much per item, but quantity makes up for that. Using hotspots sucks, lose connection, freeze and slow, but you do what you have to. If all works out I will have steady customer, yeah. Three orders almost gone, waiting on checks. Do not send items before being paid, could lose product and money. Going to Etsy chat to see if they like new item. Get honest answers there good and bad, but you need both to improve. Like I keep saying, do not give up.

Good morning all, been at it since 3am. Promoting my shop. I am ready for a nap, but that will not happen. With all the kids here makes it hard to accomplish anything. I might have a wholesaler, they order a bunch over and over, good steady work. Trying to get wife motivated with this project, starting an online business. Not much luck yet. Finally had to use some money

Well it has been a month and I had to spend some money on my shop 1.00, lol. Had to pay for the items I posted. Should be up to my 4th sale soon. All I can say is be friendly, helpful and mainly promote. Starting a business is a lot of work, but the end product will be worth it. I have actually made some things I did not think I could. I will be glad when the sales are final, then I will get feedback on my shop. Good feedback means more orders. Till next time, Keep trying.

Starting an online business with no money

Started early at Etsy and already have 2 more orders. One buyer looks like they want to buy from me and decorate themselves. Repeat business, that would be great. Now I have to look for patterns to make there request, that will take some time,lol. Still no help from family, maybe when money starts coming in it will change thier attitude. I am hoping this can be a family business. Did my Twitter thing off to Etsy for more orders, I hope. I still can't believe this is actually working. I said I was not going to give up.

Good morning, I got an order last nifgt, hope I can make it. The 3 inch letters I can make a name 6 letters long, they ordered the big letters and an eleven letter name. Sounds like a challenge for me. won't be on computer for a while, I will be on my new project, yeah. Thanks again to my Esty supporters, best place I have found to do what you love and get paid. Have to make it to post office, just moved and need to change address. One check on the way. Finished the coffe and getting ready to start. You can always see my work at flickr. I can not believe I have spent the whole day online.No new sales yet, but the day is not over. Blogging and promoting on etsy at the same time..lol. Specials, discounts man my fingers hurt. Would not be so bad if wife got into it, right now I am just playing on the internet...lol I wish. First Sale

Finally, I made my first sale. It feels so good. Going for the second. Slowely it is starting, waiting for feedback at my shop http:woodnamesandmore.etsy.com. Getting my name out there, like I said before promoting seems to be the hardest part. Thanks to all the other shop owners for thier help. I was suprised with how helpfull every one is, Makes it a lot better. I need to find more free sites to promote. I been looking at facebook but I must be missing something, I will figure it out. Good morning, sorry I have not posted lately, but I have been having a lot of problems with my computer. Almost done making my first 3 orders, yeah. When they are finished I am going to post them to http://www,flickr.com/photos/woodnamesandmore so you can see more of my creations.The whole idea behind this blog is how to start an online business with no money. So far I have nothing invested but a lot of time. I have recieved 3 orders so far. I have been at it for a little over 3 weeks. I am hoping people will follow my blog and maybe get some ideas to start thier own business. I am always up for ideas, promotions to help,so feel free to send me your ideas. I am not selling any kits or any of the other stuff to get you started, I am just aperson trying to make a living and willing to help others,too. All the sites I list are free to join, I make nothing if you join. I have realized the more people that follow your sites the better tour reputation is and the chances of succeeding are better. Oops I do make some money from followers, if they click on an ad from my blog page http://woodnamesandmore.blogspot.com but it does not cost you anything to click an ad. The ads are from Google Adsense. Google places the ads and if someone clicks on them you get paid from the advertisers. Joining Adsense is free,too. It is a lot of time on the internet, but any business is going to take time to get it going. When I get up I start my computer then start the coffee pot. What a day, take a step forward get shoved back 3. Internet problems, so I loaded AOL free 3 month trial, Dial up..sucks but I am back on Internet. I was composing a thank you E-mail for a possible customer and sent it by accident before I got it right, customer not to happy, so I probably lost my first sale,that sucks. Keeping my fingers crost. Being flat broke and trying to start a business is not easy, but I am not giving up. I see I have 1 follower,yeah, hoping for more. Get a lot of followers and get them to click on my blog ads will help out I hope. Google adsense pays for each click,shame you can not click your own ads,lol. I will be checking my followers and clicking thier ads,too. For some reason I can not get to Twitter from AOL....Already put my blog and shop http://woodnamesandmore.etsy.com in my favorites,now I need to get to Twitter and Flickr. I just joined flickr so I can post pictures of my work and fellow Etsy shops. Back to work, need to promote and sell my work, which is all custom made. Look forward to hearing from you.

The cookout is over, I can back to promoting me Esty shop. woodnamesandmore.esty.com That was a lot of people at the cookout, hit them all up to link my sites to thiers and thier friends.Still nothing from my first order...but if they order it won't take long to finish and send,preped everything,high hopes. Still need to check on tweetpics, suppose to be able to load pics on twitter. Heard someone in the etsy chat room talkijg about flickr being a good site to promote. The little break from the internet did me some good,I have been at this for almost a week nonstop. I hope they all come thru with linking my shop to thier spaces. More exposure is better and helps promote. I am hoping that if they share with thier friends they will be more likely to buy. Between my shop,Twitter, checking E-mail and my blogspot I am staying very busy, and I need to join some more sites that are free and keep them updated.I need to get hold of esty support and find out if I can use Esty.com on fliers I plan to make. Here is where the kids come in,I will make the fliers and get them to pass them out. I know I do not have time to pass them out.Time to go to tritter and then tweetpics. last minute family cookout,love the 1 hr. notice. I might have messed up my first sale. I was trying to compose a really good thank you reply and sent it by accident before it was ready. The reply back was not good,but it was my fault. I can only pray, they still order.Now Iam nervous.....Live and learn, do not compose thank you till the deal is done. Good morning evryone. It's a wonderful morning, I recieved my first inquiry for 2 custom names. Responded quickly with the info requested and gave a little nudge to buy them,not too pushy,just alittle discount. It came from a person in the Esty community,it's basically a chat room for people who are signed up for Esty.com.You can join different chats and show off your store,get ideas to promote your shop, Other people will critic you sop page and give ideas to improve,help you if you are having a problem or not knowing how to do something. The Esty is chat rooms are very helpful and it's all free. From talking to other sellers it usually takes a while (about a month) before making your first sale, I have only been at etst.com for a week. My adsense has been approved and up and running. Now I need some followers and for them to click on an ad. Clicking on an ad on my blog is free for you and I get a little money from google. If you have or start a blog let me know, I will follow you and you can follow me. Then we can click on each others ads, you can't click on your own add. As normal don't forget to check my shop woodnamesandmore.esty.com if you have time leave me alittle comment, I would like to add comments about my shop in my blog so everyone can see how this journey to success is going. back to Twitter then the etsy chat and then thinking about sing up for Flicr.

Took most of the day off from the internet. Still having a few problems getting every thing working together. What a day...spent the whole day trying to promote my shop, it seems like I just got up and it's time to go to bed. No sales yet, but I am getting my name out there.I wish I would have started all of this a couple years ago. Just have to keep going at it, adsense e-mailed me and should start putting ads on my blog in 48 hrs.
